He made his professional acting debut in the 1994 Italian film Tutti i giorni sì.
He starred in the 1999 HBO film Excellent Cadavers. In February 2018, he co-hosted the 68th edition of the Sanremo Music Festival. He appeared on nine episodes of the short lived Marco Polo series. Collectively, he has appeared in over 80 different films and TV series' throughout the course of his career. As well as acting, he has also earned a few credits as a producer on different film projects.
He and his partner Anna Ferzetti have two children.
