Prominent politician who was elected Mayor of the 7th arrondissement of Paris in March 2008. She also spent time as the Keeper of the Seals, Minister of Justice and as a Member of the European Parliament.

She earned a master's degree in economics from the University of Burgundy and a law degree from Panthéon-Assas University.

She has been employed as a junior magistrate and assistant prosecutor.

Her father Mbarek is a bricklayer and her mother's name is Fatima-Zohra. She has a daughter named Zohra.

She worked as a spokesperson for Nicolas Sarkozy during the 2007 French presidential election.
