British writer and broadcaster who became famous for her book My Fat Mad Teenage Diary, a collection of personal writings from when she was a teenager in the 1980's. The book inspired an E4 series of the same name.

She graduated from the University of Hull. She worked as a copywriter before pursuing broadcasting.

Her first fiction book, OMG! Is This Actually My Life?, was released in 2013.

She married a man named Kevin Johnson. She has a son named Harry.

She and Christina Crawford are both famous memoirists.
