College Football Hall of Fame offensive lineman from UCLA who won three Super Bowl rings with the San Francisco 49ers: XVI, XIX, and XXIII.

He was a shot-put champion along with playing offensive line and rugby at UCLA.

He helped UCLA win the Rose Bowl in 1976 and was an important figure in expanding the school's rugby program.

He fathered three children, Kelly, Crystal, and Brendan, with his wife Patrice.

He played against legendary coach Woody Hayes and The Ohio State Buckeyes in the 1976 Rose Bowl.
