ABOUT RAY BENSON
Frontman and founding member of the country music band Asleep at the Wheel who sings and plays guitar. His band created a production of "A Ride With Bob."
He found his future bandmate Lucky Oceans, otherwise known as Reuben Gosfield, in Paw Paw, West Virginia.
He remained with Asleep at the Wheel after more than ninety different members came and went.
He has two children with Jodi Benson in 1984.
Willie Nelson helped Benson's band find its footing, suggesting that they move to Austin.
