Screenwriter who created and executive produced the Netflix comedy The Upshaws . She served as co-executive producer on the series The L Word: Generation Q . Her writing credits also include Insecure , Girlfriends , Uncle Buck , Marlon , Are We There Yet? and Instant Mom . In 2021, she signed a multi-year deal with Netflix to create, write and produce new series and other projects.

She attended the University of Georgia where she received a Bachelor's degree in TV Production and a Master of Fine Arts in Drama.

She has co-scripted several television movies including Jump In! , Camp Rock and Camp Rock 2: The Final Jam for the Disney Channel.  She co-scripted the Disney+ movie Sister Act 3. From 1996, she was a producer on the series Sister, Sister .

She has been based in Los Angeles, California. She has Golden Retrievers Finely and Ally.

In 2021, it was announced that she was developing a comedy series with Barack Obama and Michelle Obama 's Higher Ground production company.
