ABOUT RICHELLE MEAD

Bestselling fantasy author best known for her Georgina Kincaid, Vampire Academy, and Dark Swan book series. Her other works include the Bloodlines books and the Age of X series.

She received degrees from three universities: the University of Michigan (BA), Western Michigan University (MA), and the University of Washington (MAT). She published her first Georgina Kincaid novel, Succubus Blues, in early 2007.

She won a Teen Read Award in 2010 for her popular young adult series, Vampire Academy.

She married her husband, Jay, in 2009. The couple has two sons.

Her vampire-centric young adult novels have been compared to author Stephenie Meyer 's Twilight series.
