Wrote over 150 film scripts between 1973 and 2014, including Jose Rizal, Muro Ami, and Muling Umawit ang Puso, which all won Metro Manila Film Festival Awards.
He won his first writing award while in high school.
In 1982, he won the Metro Manila Film Festival Award for Best Screenplay for his work Himala.
His mother died when he was five and he rarely saw his father.
