ABOUT ROB PENNY
African-American playwright and poet known for "Boppin' with the Ancestors," "Blue Yonder," and other works.
He attended Central Catholic High School in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.
He taught at the University of Pittsburgh, where he helped to establish the Africana Studies Department.
He had three children with his wife, Timau Betty Penny.
He and renowned playwright, August Wilson , co-founded the Black Horizon Theater.
