English actor best known for playing the role of Bob Ferris on the BBC television series and film, The Likely Lads.
He suffered from asthma as a child and due to this he would not attend school very often, but when he did, he studied at Stopsley Boys' School.
He was once a spokesman for the trade organization, British Onion Marketing Board.
He married Daphne Black in 1973 and the couple has four children.
He appeared in the film version of John Ford 's play, 'Tis Pity She's A Whore in 1980.
