ABOUT RODNEY HARVEY

Remembered for his portrayal of Sodapop Curtis in the 1990 Fox network series The Outsiders, as well as for his roles in the Drew Barrymore feature Guncrazy (1992) and the Tim Robbins and Jodie Foster film Five Corners (1987), he is also notable for his work as a model.

He began his acting career by appearing in two Paul Morrissey-directed films of the 1980s: Mixed Blood and Spike of Bensonhurst.

His final two films were the 1996 features Intimate Crimes and God's Lonely Man.

Born and raised in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, he later relocated to Los Angeles, California. Tragically, he died of a drug overdose at the age of thirty.

He co-starred with River Phoenix in the 1991 film My Own Private Idaho and, like Phoenix, began using drugs during this period.
