ABOUT RON MERCER

NBA All-Rookie First Team selection in 1998 with the Boston Celtics, won a national championship at the University of Kentucky.

He was twice named Mr. Basketball of Tennessee while at Goodpasture Christian School.

He was named SEC Player of the Year in 1997.

He gave his mother a Cadillac on Mother's Day as a rookie.

He was drafted into the NBA by his former college coach, Rick Pitino .
