Known for such reggae and soca hits as "Jump" and "Tempted to Touch," this German-born, Barbadian musician released such Atlantic Records albums as 1 on 1 and Leave a Message.
While attending grammar school in Barbados, he was the 1993 champion of the Richard Stoute Teen Talent Competition. Less than a decade later, he released his first popular single, "Ice Cream."
He studied graphic design at Barbados Community College and briefly worked in advertising before becoming a full-time musician.
Born Rupert Clarke to a German mother and a Caribbean father, he grew up in Germany, England, and Barbados.
He and R&B singer Hal Linton both had Barbadian roots.
