ABOUT SłAWOMIR MENTZEN

Politician and entrepreneur who placed third in the 2025 Polish presidential election. He is a far-right libertarian in favor of low taxes and staunchly against abortion and migrants. In 2020, he launched his own craft beer brand called Browar Mentzen.

He attended Nicolaus Copernicus University. He holds a PhD in economics and a degree in physics.

In 2018, he ran for mayor of Toruń. In 2019, he ran for the European Parliament. In 2022, he succeeded Janusz Korwin-Mikke as leader of the libertarian New Hope party.

His father is mathematician Mieczysław Mentzen.

He ran for president in 2025, with the outgoing president Andrzej Duda ineligible for re-election.
