ABOUT SAM WINNALL

English striker for Sheffield who previously competed for Barnsley from 2014 to 2017 and the Wolverhampton Wanderers from 2009 to 2013. He was named to the Football League Two PFA Team of the Year for the 2013-14 season.

He played youth soccer for Goodrich before making his senior debut with his home town Wolverhampton Wanderers.

He led Scunthorpe and League Two in scoring in 2013-14 and was nominated for the League Two Player of the Year Award that season.

His father's name is Stephen.

He has played alongside goalkeeper Ross Turnbull at Barnsley.
