ABOUT SAMUEL MONROE JR

Actor who is known for his work in a variety of both television and film. He is best known for his role as Lorenz in the 1996 film Set It Off and as the recurring role in the series NYPD Blue.

With a passion for acting at a young age, he landed his first roll as an actor in Patti LaBelle's 1993 Hit TV series "Out All Night". He then made the transition from television to film with an appearance in the 1995 film Tales from the Hood.

In addition to his acting, he has also worked as a writer, director, and producer. He is known for producing his own hit television series entitled "The Halls".

He was born and raised in Los Angeles, California. He married Shawna Stewart.

As a guest star on the TNT original series Southland, he stars alongside Michael Cudlitz , Shawn Hatosy , Regina King , and Arija Bareikis .
