Samuele Ricci

ABOUT SAMUELE RICCI

Italian professional soccer player and athlete who is known for playing midfielder for Torino FC in Serie A and for representing the Italian national team. He stands five feet, 11 inches tall. Ricci was first called up to the Italy under-17 team in December 2017 for a friendly against France.

He started his youth soccer career with the Italian football club Empoli. He made his professional debut for Empoli in the 2019-2020 season in Serie B. He was promoted to Serie A for the 2021-2022 season. He made his debut for the Italian national team in the year 2022.

He was named Serie B Young Player of the Year in 2021. He enjoys traveling.  Ricci was selected in the senior Italy squad for the 2022 Finalissima against Argentina on June 1, 2022, and for 2022-23 UEFA Nations League group stage matches against Germany, Hungary, England, and Germany between the 4th and the 14th of June in 2022.

He was born and raised in Pontedera, Italy.

He is often compared to fellow Italian midfielders like Marco Verratti for his playing style and performance. He has been coached by Luciano Spalletti on the Italian national team.
