In 2013, he won Best Folk Song at the Malaysian Music Industry Awards for the single "Naa Venumma."
He was born Shanthesh Kumar in India. He is fluent in Tamil and Malaysian.
Sheezay was featured on that Santesh single "Karate" alongside Alagu.
