ABOUT SARA DOORSOUN

Veteran club defender that has been playing soccer professionally since 2007. She is best known for her years with SGS Essen where she played in over 100 club matches. She has also played for the German women's national team during her professional career.

As a kid, she played for the SV Wesseling youth team. She also played for SpVgg Köttingen and Fortuna Köln as a kid.

She played a huge role defensively in Germany's 2-1 win against France during the 2022 UEFA Women's Euro Cup semis. Unfortunately, her and teammates lost in the tournament's championship match against England.

She grew up living with her family in Cologne, Germany. She was born of Turkish and Iranian descent.

She played alongside Alexandra Popp as a member of Team Germany during the 2022 UEFA World Cup.
