ABOUT SARAH HANSON-YOUNG

Politician who has risen to fame as an Australian Senator representing the Australian Greens party. She assumed her post in 2008 after becoming the then-youngest woman ever elected to federal parliament in Australia at age 25.

She earned her social science degree from the University of Adelaide. She served as the president of the Students' Association of the University of Adelaide in the 2002-2003 school year.

She has worked as the Australian Green's immigration spokesperson. She won the 1999 Australia Day Young Citizen of the Year award.

She shares one child with her first husband Zane Young, whom she divorced in 2011. In April 2022, she married Ben Oquist.

She has served as a senator in Australia's Senate during Scott Morrison 's tenure as Australian Prime Minister.
