A frequent theater actor who has performed in stage adaptations of popular titles including Macbeth and A Streetcar Named Desire. He has also had roles on BBC television in The 39 Steps and River City.
He studied his craft at Queen Margaret College which changed its name to Queen Margaret University.
He played The Scarecrow in a theater adaptation of The Wizard of Oz.
He was born in Peebles, Scotland.
He appeared in an adaptation of Aladdin based on the popular children's animated film, which starred Robin Williams as The Genie.
