ABOUT SELAMAWI ASGEDOM
Ethiopian-American author and public speaker who wrote a bestselling autobiography about his experience as a refugee, Of Beetles and Angels: A Boy's Remarkable Journey from a Refugee Camp to Harvard.
He moved to the United States when he was seven after fleeing the war in Ethiopia and went on to graduate with honors and deliver his class's commencement address at Harvard University.
He released his first fantasy novel set in East Africa in 2010 with a sequel planned for the future.
His son, Sawyer Tewolde Asgedom, was born in 2008.
