Selden Rodman

ABOUT SELDEN RODMAN

American author and poet who published more than forty books over the course of his career, including travelogues and numerous works on Haitian art and literature. One of his best-known works is Haiti: The Black Republic.

He was born in a well-to-do Manhattan family and went on to study at Yale University.

He was a co-founder of Common Sense magazine.

He and his sister, Nancy, grew up in a wealthy Manhattan family.

He was born in the same year as fellow American author Willard Motley .
