Actor who has gained acclaim for his long career acting in both TV and film, including as Gus McIlroy on the CBBC TV show My Perfect Landing in 2020. He gained critical acclaim for his turn as Corny Collins in the 1988 comedy-drama film Hairspray.

He earned his breakthrough with his role as Simon Hall on the long-time CBS soap opera Guiding Light between 1985-1987.

He has served as a producer, director, and actor for the popular The Comedy Network TV show Puppets Who Kill. He won the Gemini Award for best direction for his work on the show in 2004.

He was born and raised in Canada.

He was directed by John Waters in the 1988 film Hairspray.
