American singer who was popular during the 1970s when she was a part of the music group The Three Degrees and sang on the single "Year of Decision."

She originally wanted to be a psychologist while growing up, but a crush on Marvin Gaye is what inspired her to become a singer.

She published a cook book in 1989 called Soul Food: Classic Cuisine from the Deep South.

She was married to Chris Robinson from 1980 to 2000 and had twin daughters.

She co-hosted the Newcastle based charity, Toma Fund's Eurovision Reunited event alongside Christopher Biggins .
