American actress, animator, and writer who is best known for voicing the character of Slappy in the children's television series Animaniacs and its revival. She became a three time Emmy award winning writer and story editor for Tiny Toon Adventures , Animaniacs and Curious George . She has also been a live-action reference for Ariel in Disney's The Little Mermaid and Belle in Beauty and the Beast .

In 1989, she was a writer for the television show On the Television.

She was a performing member of the Groundling's Main Company.

Her and Deanna Oliver co-wrote Universal's Casper and My Favorite Martian for Disney. She was also the head writer for Curious George.

She has been in a relationship with Robert Alvarez since 1976.

She was a live-action reference for Disney's The Little Mermaid which starred Halle Bailey as Ariel.
