ABOUT SIDNEY CARROLL
Screenwriter who was nominated for an Academy Award for his 1961 screenplay, The Hustler. He is also a two-time Emmy winner for his work on documentaries The Louvre (1978) and China and the Forbidden City (1963).
He became involved in the industry at a young age.
He was nominated for an Oscar for The Hustler, as well as two Emmy awards during his lengthy career.
He married his wife, Broadway star June Carroll, in 1940.
He wrote the screenplay for the film, Gambit which starred acclaimed actor Michael Caine .
