ABOUT SIMON WOODS

English actor and playwright best known for the role of Charles Bingley in the 2005 film Pride & Prejudice . He also played Octavian in season two of the television series Rome . He played Doctor Harrison in the BBC's Cranford. He appeared in the television series MI-5 and the film Starter for 10.

He attended Eton College, then read English at Magdalen College, University of Oxford . After graduating, he worked briefly at The Guardian.

He quit acting in 2008. In 2019, the stage play he wrote, Hansard, was presented at the Lyttelton Theatre, London. The play was about a 1980s Tory politician and his left-leaning wife.

He was in a relationship with actress Rosamund Pike . In 2012, he married Christopher Bailey . The couple have two daughters named Iris and Nell.

He became friends with Chelsea Clinton while at Oxford. He volunteered for Hillary Clinton 's campaign.
