ABOUT SLATER MARTIN

Hall of Fame point guard who was a seven-time NBA All-Star and won five NBA championships, four with the Minnesota Lakers and one with the St. Louis Hawks.

He played college basketball for the Texas Longhorns.

He coached the Hawks and the Houston Mavericks after his playing career was over.

He was born in Elmina, Walker County, Texas.

Hall of Fame forward Cliff Hagan was his teammate on the Hawks.
