ABOUT SOHLA EL-WAYLLY

Chef, restaurateur and social media personality who was an assistant food editor at Bon Appétit. She has amassed more than 550,000 followers on her sohlae Instagram account.

She attended the University of California, Irvine , where she studied economics. She worked at a Cheesecake Factory while she was a student.

In June 2020, a photo of Bon Appétit editor-in-chief Adam Rapoport in brownface resurfaced online. She called for him to step down and accused the magazine of discrimination.

As a child, her family owned a Baskin-Robbins store. She married chef Hisham "Ham" El-Waylly. In July 2023, she revealed she was expecting her first child. They welcomed their child in September 2023.

She is one of many famous chefs, including Ree Drummond .
