One of the most famous Iranian poets in history, known for works like Water's Footfall. He practiced what was known as "New Poetry", a style that did not employ the use of meter or rhyme.
He hosted his first painting exhibition in Tehran in 1944.
He was also a highly respected modernist painter.
He was never married.
