Singer best known as the first wife of boxer Muhammad Ali .  Ali proposed to her the night they met. They married in Gary, Indiana on August 14, 1964. Their marriage lasted a little over a year and they divorced in January 1966.

She worked as a model and a cocktail waitress.

She said she divorced the boxing legend because his conversion to Islam strained their relationship. She released singles titled "Here I am and Here I Stay" and "I Can't Wait (Until I See My Baby's Face)." She appeared in a movie about Ali, as well as a few different TV series'.

Her second husband was a lawyer named Reynaldo Glover. They had a son named Bryan Reynaldo Jr. She and her second husband separated. She had another son named Herman Griffin.

Her famous ex-husband also married Khalilah Ali, Veronica Porché Ali and Lonnie Ali .
