Non-fiction co-author of The Art of Search Engine Optimization, as well as the two subsequent updated editions that were released in 2012 and 2015, respectively. He also authored Google Power Search. He is a search engine optimization expert and the founder of NetConcepts, a company that specialized in SEO for Fortune 500 e-commerce companies.

He earned an M.S. in Biochemistry from the University of Wisconsin at Madison. He embarked upon PhD study but dropped out to pursue a career.
