ABOUT STEPHEN GLEESON

Irish midfielder most famous as a member of clubs like Stockport County FC and Milton Keynes Dons FC. He was named to the Football League One PFA Team of the Year for the 2011-12 season.

He was born in Dublin and spent his youth career at Cherry Orchard before making his senior debut with the Wolverhampton Wanderers in 2006.

His spectacular goal against the Wycombe Wanderers was voted Stockport's Goal of 2008 by fans.

He is an only child.

He has been teammates with American player Brek Shea on Birmingham City FC.
