Steve David Daines
ABOUT STEVE DAVID DAINES
American politician and former corporate executive best known for serving as the junior United States senator from Montana. He also became the chairman of the National Republican Senatorial Committee in 2023. He has been a member of the Republican Party and represented Montana's at-large congressional district in the U.S. House of Representatives from 2013 to 2015.
He graduated from Bozeman High School where he served as student body president. He earned a Bachelor of Science degree in chemical engineering from Montana State University.
He became a brother of the Sigma Nu fraternity while in college. He was one of the youngest delegates at the 1984 Republican National Convention. He enjoyed mountain climbing and has scaled Granite Peak and Grand Teton among other peaks.
He was born in Los Angeles and grew up in Bozeman, Montana. His parents were Sharon R. and Clair W. Daines. He and his wife Cindy had four children together.
He voted with Donald Trump 's stated public policy positions 86% of the time during Trump's presidency.
