ABOUT SUMAYA RIDA

Saudi Arabian actress known for portraying Ayda in the 2021 crime drama miniseries Rashash and Malak in the 2021 thriller film Rupture. She later had a leading role in the 2022 horror thriller film Junoon. She performs in both English and Arabic.

She received her MSc in international marketing management from the University of Surrey prior to launching her acting career in Saudi Arabia.

Her work in films like Roll'em and Junoon is part of a revival of Saudi Arabian cinema that broke out after a 35-year ban on the artform was lifted. She shares photos of herself on her sumayarida Instagram account, where she has amassed over 230,000 followers.

She moved to the United Kingdom at the age of 16 and later back to Saudi Arabia. She has a sister who has been featured on her Instagram account.

She and Billy Zane both contributed their acting talents to Rupture.
