ABOUT TAEKO ONUKI
Japanese singer and songwriter best known for her influence on the city pop genre. Her 1977 album Sunshower is considered a landmark in the history of Japanese pop music.
She formed the band Sugar Babe in 1973.
She sang the theme song for the 2006 film Animal Crossing: The Movie.
Her father, Kenichiro Onuki, was a member of the Japanese Special Attack Units during World War II.
She collaborated with Ryuichi Sakamoto on her 2010 album UTAU.
