Bestselling American horror writer who has gained fame for her novels Winter Scream, Moonfall, and Thunder Road. She has often written under the pen name Chris Curry.

She published her first novel, Winter Scream, in 1991. It was co-authored with fantasy and horror author L. Dean James.

In 1991, she was nominated for the Bram Stoker Award for Best First Novel.

She was born and raised in Los Angeles, California.

In 2009, she appeared on an episode of Ghost Adventures , hosted by Zak Bagans .
