She and her husband were married in January 1996. Prior to her marriage, she had a child of her own.

Her husband, Kirk, has won over 15 different Grammys during his musical career. He won his first Grammy for Best Contemporary Soul Gospel Album in 1996 after the release of his album Whatcha Lookin' 4.

She is a native of Texas. She is a mother of three.
