Actress and R&B singer who released her debut album, This Time, in 1997 and became known for her role in the HBO film Subway Stories.

She made her film debut in 1993, acting opposite Robert De Niro in A Bronx Tale.

She collaborated with R&B artist, Missy Elliott , on the hit single 'Ooh, Ooh Baby' in 1996 and the following year released the single 'Distant Lover.'

She and Loren Dawson married and had two sons.

She acted alongside Whitney Houston in The Preacher's Wife.
