Blind American country singer and pianist who earned her highest charting single with "Somebody's Knockin" in 1980, charting at #8.
She started taking her piano lessons at age three. Chet Atkins encouraged her to move to Nashville as a young woman to pursue music.
She released her last study album in 1990, which was entitled What a Great Day.
She married city councilman David Daughtrey in 1988. The couple had a son named David II.
She had one of her first stage performances as a teenager while opening for Bill Anderson .
