ABOUT THIAGO MAIA
Defensive midfielder who has gained fame for his club career around the world, including in Brazil's Serie A with Santos FC. During his 2014-2017 tenure, he won the 2016 Campeonato Paulista and was named the 2016 Campeonato Paulista team of the year with Santos.
He played in Santos FC's youth academy between 2011-2015.
He won the gold medal at the 2016 Olympic Games with Brazil's national team. He signed with French Ligue 1 squad Lille OSC in 2017.
His parents' names are Joel and Vanda Maia.
He and Jose Fonte have played as defensive teammates for the French Ligue 1 club Lille OSC.
