Soul singer who rose to fame after appearing on NBC's The Voice . She competed on Kelly Clarkson 's team, but she was eliminated from the competition without making it into the top twelve singers.

She is from St. Louis, Missouri and when she was 14 she became a teen mother to daughter Ashlynn. Her parents took care of the baby so Keys could go to college.

She has her own soul band in St. Louis that is well-known on the regional music scene.

12 years after the birth of her daughter she had a son, but simultaneously her parents both died within 18 months of one another. Keys credits her husband Tobias with helping her get through.

Initially she chose to be on Adam Levine 's team, but she was eliminated and then saved by Clarkson.
