Scottish stage, film, and television actor who appeared in the 2012 film, The Dark Knight Rises. He played his most memorable roles in American Dreamer; Merry Christmas, Mr. Lawrence; Dangerous Parking, and Voices Within: The Lives of Truddi Chase.
He attended Hamilton Crescent School, a Catholic school in Glasgow.
He almost ran as a conservative candidate in the London mayoral election in 2008.
He married Kara Drummond Wilson in 1967 and the couple had a daughter together named Nina.
He appeared on the 2010 television series, Miranda, which starred Patricia Hodge .
