ABOUT TOM WESSELMANN
Pop artist who worked in sculpture, collage, and painting and was best known for his "Great American Nude" and "Still Life" series.
He attended Hiram College and the University of Cincinnati. Early in his artistic education, he was influenced by the work of Willem De Kooning.
He participated in The New Realists exhibition in 1962 along with artist Robert Indiana .
He married Claire Selley, whom he had met while studying at Cooper Union during the 1950s.
He was a contemporary of James Rosenquist .
