ABOUT VICTOR MATURE
As the first male film star to be labeled a hunk, he appeared in Samson and Delilah in 1949 and The Robe in 1953. His other feature films include One Million B.C. and I Wake Up Screaming.
He spent time selling candy and operating a restaurant before moving to California.
Being color blind got him barred from the air force.
His father was a cutler and Italian immigrant. He was married to his fifth wife, Loretta G Sebena, from 1974 to 1999.
He co-starred with Susan Hayward in the 1954 drama feature Demetrius and the Gladiators.
