Hong Kong film and television actress best known for portraying Madame Gao in the Marvel Cinematic Universe shows Daredevil , Iron Fist , and The Defenders . She also voiced Grandma Wu in Pixar's Turning Red .
She began her television career in the 1980s with a role in the soap opera One Life to Live .
She is a theater actress and has worked with the Long Wharf Theatre, the Denver Center for the Performing Arts, and New York Stage and Film.
She was born in Hong Kong but later moved to New York City.
She worked alongside Charlie Cox , Deborah Ann Woll , and Elden Henson on the cast of Daredevil.
