Before beginning her music career, she attained a degree in international business.
Her single "Star in You" was used in a 2013 episode of the Canadian teen series Degrassi: The Next Generation.
A native of Harbin, Heilongjiang, China, she relocated to Vancouver, Canada in her teens.
Her songs "Drenched" and "You Exist in My Song" were featured in director Pang Ho-Cheung 's 2012 film Love in the Buff.
