Her first major television role was as Ronnie in the comedy series The New WKRP in Cincinnati.

She was a member of the Delta Sigma Theta sorority at Howard University where she graduated with a Theater Degree.

She and her ex-husband Jacobi have a daughter together.

She has appeared with Kiefer Sutherland on an episode of Designated Survivor in 2018.
