ABOUT WENDY GUERRA

Cuban poet and novelist who is known for her books Platea a oscuras, Cabeza rapada, and Posar desnuda en La Habana.

She graduated from the Higher Institute of Art.

She appeared in the film Hello Hemingway, in 1990. In 2010, France named her a Chevalier of the Ordre des Arts et des Lettres. Her first collection of poems went on to receive the prize "13 de marzo". She went on to earn a degree in film, radio and television direction.

She is the daughter of Albis Torres and Raúl Guerra. She has a half brother named Sandro Guerra García. She is married to Ernán López-Nussa. Her mother was an unpublished poet.

She and Maya Angelou are both poets.
